Cowes Sailability
Cowes Sailability Club’s aim is to put smiles on faces, but in reality, the charity does so much more than this. By offering sailing and recreational boating opportunities for people with disabilities, it helps adults and children to gain renewed confidence in themselves, inspires them to live their lives to the full and leaves them with incredible memories that they and their families will treasure.
On Monday afternoons from May until September, members of Cowes Sailability Club meet at CCYC and embark from the CCYC pontoon on a range of boating and sailing trips. Throughout the year, Cowes Sailability Club also holds a number of social events at CCYC, including its popular Laying-up Supper and Christmas Party.
Cowes Sailability Club is run entirely by volunteers and received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2010. New volunteers are always given a very warm welcome and can help on the water, at the shore side and behind the scenes. If you would like to help with maintaining and crewing the club’s boats, supporting disabled members on trips or undertaking administration, please get in touch.
